Dr. Celeste Chavis

Associate Professor

 

Transportation & Urban Infrastructure Studies

Celeste Chavis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Transportation and Urban Infrastructure Studies (TUIS) at Morgan State University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Ohio State University (2007). Dr. Chavis obtained her Master of Science (2008) and Doctor of Philosophy (2012) in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley with a focus in Transportation Systems where she was funded by the National Science Foundation. Dr. Chavis’ research interests include traffic operations, public transportation systems, bicycle and pedestrian accommodation, policy and regulatory decisions, and equity of transportation systems. Recent projects include multimodal transportation network modeling and the deployment of electric vehicle infrastructure.
